Sadly we have lost two very prominent members of our Society, James Roberts and Wilf Riding, both have given a lot of time, knowledge and kind assistance to our members, we will be publishing Wilf's obituary in the next issue of Merkur. Both will be sorely missed.
It has been a busy quarter for the Committee, our Exhibition Managers have finalised the details of Globalrail, which will be held on Sunday 22 May 2016 at Didcot Civic Hall, Britwell Road, Didcot, Oxfordshire OX11 7JN. If you can offer any help on the day we would be most grateful and it will ensure that our exhibition is a success, please contact either Alan or Tony for details. We have attended a few exhibitions with the Society Stand, with some new products, which have been well received as has the new Historical Signalling Guide. We are hoping to publish more work of Wilf Riding, being Lineside Signalling and Doug Tompkins' Diesel Book.
I was at the Warley exhibition and a bus historian was asking for information about DB Bahnbusse between 1945 and 1960, so if anyone has any photographs or information please let us know. Another gentlemen was asking whether any of our members have garden railways so if you do please could send us any photographs as he would be delighted to publish your pictures in his magazine. Also please note that the 2016 AGM will be held at Keen House on 25th June 2016, more details will be published nearer the time.
Please let me take this opportunity to thank everyone who has given up their time to assist the Society, whether on the Committee or helping on the Society's Stand at exhibitions, your help is invaluable and very much appreciated.
May we wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
